Sybille des Salons -- Sibilla c. 1890
$43.00
According to the World of Playing Cards website the Sybille des Salons deck was first published around 1840. This iteration published by Grimaud sometime in the 1890s. The deck contains 52 cards, with complete set of standard playing card inserts in the upper left corner of each card. Interestingly the order of the cards is not in playing card suit order but in alphabetical order of the French single word descriptions on each card.
The cards all have characters showing them in a variety of situations. The cards are designed to illustrate a full spectrum of human interactions and emotions. While this deck does not contain a LWB, anyone who is familiar with fortune telling cards will be up to speed quickly.
There is an additional card with the English translation of the French words on the cards.
The cards are made for people who plan to use their cards often. They are printed on modern day, casino grade card stock (black core, 320 gsm) that can be riffle shuffled and feels wonderful in hand and come in a tuck box. Card size is 2-1/2 x 3-1/2"
The decks will be specially ordered just for you and mailed in 3-4 weeks, (although probably sooner).
